3 As you know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, and lots of companies are putting out all things pink.  I love pink, so I always get excited ... 71 Hello everybody! My name is Rebecca(which I'm sure you could guess from my username), and I am 22 years old. I love shimmery products for the face and eyes. The hardest thing for me is to find a lipstick that doesn't bug the heck out of me all day, so I stick to gloss and balm.So, anywho, I noticed Critty's face blogs, and have decided to do something of my own! A little something I'm going to call my Face of the Week!The creation of this blog is mainly to inspire me to use makeup more frequently and more creatively. I have always been a 'natural look' person, with shimmery gold and bronze. Every once and a while I'll toss in a light pink with some dark brown shading, but I really want to try stepping it up a notch. I will be taking pictures of myself all made up each day, and will choose the best or most interesting look on me, in my opinion, for my Face of the Week blog. 3 Here is an easy tutorial I did that was a YouTube request for Pink and White eyeshadow, but I added in some lilac on the lower lash line just to make it a little more fun.<img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2216/2388188108_686118a721.jpg?v=0" alt="pretty by critty pink and purple eyeshadow" title="pretty by critty pink and purple eyeshadow" width="319" height="232" align="middle" />As you can see the lilac shadow on the bottom is sparlking, making the look really fresh and Spring -like.  The White Frost (MAC) in the inner corner of my eye makes it pop.  Steps:<ol><li>Apply your foundation, powder and fill in your brows. </li><li>Apply a white eyeshadow up to your brow bone.  I used White Frost from MAC.</li><li>Use a medium toned pink all over your lid and blend up to the crease.  I used Da Bling fron MAC.</li><li>With an angle brush, apply a lilac shadow on he lower lash line.  I used Urban Decay Grifter which has a silver shimmer to it.</li><li>Apply purple or eggplant waterproof eyeliner on your lower waterline (if you like that look) and a very thin line along your top lash line.  I used Urban Decay 24/7 pencil in Rockstar. </li><li>Clean off your angle brush and applywhite shadow on the inner corner of your eye.</li><li>Apply mascara.  I used Cover Girl Lash Blast.</li><li>Apply a cool undertoned blush, I used Avon Pink Horizon blush - love it!</li><li>Apply a pink lipstick or gloss I used Avon Lip Glaze in Pink Darling.</li></ol>I really like this look, I think it is fresh and can be worn by women of all ages.  If you have crepey lids, just use the a shimmer or a frost on the inner corner of your eyes.  The rest of the look will be just as pretty with matte shadows.   Here's the video showing how to do it: <object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0" width="425" height="355"><param name="width" value="425" /><param name="height" value="355" /><param name="src" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/oo3PCsyED0g&hl=en" /><embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="425" height="355" src="http://www.youtube.com/v/oo3PCsyED0g&hl=en"></embed></object> What are your favorite pink eyeshadow looks?   2008-04-04T15:00:25Z 77 Makeup Tutorial - Pink, White and Lilac Eyes

3 I recieved the following question from a reader:"Benefit's creaseless cream shadow in Tattletale and R.S.V.P. are soooo beautiful, I just had to try them knowing that they probably wouldn't be suitable for me.  And I was right.  I'm 43 and my eyes have thin, crepey skin with fine lines, and they just didn't look good on me.  I gave them to my 19 yr. old daughter.  Can you recommend something in similarly gorgeous colors that is more matte, less shimmer that would be just as pretty?  I loved the colors so much, I almost want to try them again, but cream shadows have never looked good on me.  Thanks, and I really like your videos.  I look forward to the next one. " And this is how I responded:Thanks for your email!  And thank you so much for the nice comments.  I have a few videos on the go, they should be up in the next few days.  I hope you don't mind, but I am going to answer your question on my blog too, someone else may benefit from it.  I am sorry the BeneFit Creaseless Cream Shadow/Liners did not work.  But yes, if you have any sort of crepey lids, the shimmer in the Benefit shadow is simply not going to work for you.  I hope your daughter is enjoying them at least! You could try using a primer first and then a powder shadow and then a shimmer shadow, but that seems like a lot of work!  Especially when there are plenty of other fab eyeshadows on the market and you don't have to worry about giving up sumptuous colors.  My favorite matte shadow is <a href="http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P190238&categoryId=C10461" target="_blank">Urban Decay Matte Eyeshadow</a>.  The colors are amazing and it s so silky and very bendable.  They are highly pigmented so a little goes a long way.  The neutrals are very pretty including Foxy, Naked and Secret Service.  Trendy colors like Narcotic, Cult, Purple Haze and Chronic Matte may seem a little wild, but just added to the bottom lash line, they are pretty and fresh.  It's hard to look at teal and not have flashbacks to 1986, but done sparingly and in unexpected ways, it is very Spring/Summer 2008.  Depending on your preferenes, you'll consider other colors too.  Other good matte eyeshadows include <a href="http://www.benefitcosmetics.com/gp/product/B000UWNFZU/sr=1-2/qid=1207081993/ref=sr_1_2/105-0179030-5195661?ie=UTF8&bcBrand=core" target="_blank">Benefit's Silky Powder Eyeshadow</a>, <a href="http://www.maccosmetics.com/templates/products/sp.tmpl?CATEGORY_ID=CATEGORY15103&PRODUCT_ID=PROD1503" target="_blank">MAC Eyeshadows</a> (you can sort by finish) and <a href="http://www.bobbibrowncosmetics.com/templates/products/sp_shaded.tmpl?CATEGORY_ID=CATEGORY2751&PRODUCT_ID=PROD1130" target="_blank">Bobbi Brown Eye Shadow</a>.  Please let me know what you end up choosing and how you like it! 3 I have been trying the Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadow/Liner for the past few weeks. And by trying, I mean buying more and more! These shadows really do live up to their name as Creaseless! I have the oiliest lids around and they did not budge. They are also super fast to put on with a brush or your ring finger and so versatile. I couldn't believe how well it lasted all day - even without a primer! It is a fab soft shimmery color, great for wearing alone or layering with other of the Creaseless shadow/liners or even putting on top of a matte shadow to create a shimmer. Flatter Me is another great neutral color that you will reach for again and again and you can combine it with loads of your other shadows.
