Can you use Monistat Chafing Relief as a Primer?

I've heard of people using the Monistat Soothing Care Chafing Relief Powder-Gel as a primer for a while now, but it never seemed like a good idea.  I just assumed it would clog pores.  One of my favorite blogs, The Beauty Brains investigates if it is safe or not, and it appears to have similar ingredients to other primers ... so it is safe.  The Beauty Brains are scientists in their day jobs and beauty bloggers at night, so they always have really interesting posts.  They even have a new book out, and I just got my notification mine is at the Post Office, so I will be doing a book review of that next week.  Book Review reminds me of book report, which reminds me of grade 4 - lol.  OK enough digressing, according to the BBs, the Monistat Chafing Relief is safe to use on the face ...

BUT ... a lot of people break out and get clogged pores from silicones (including moi) so if you are prone to break outs or clogged pores, you may want to stay away from all silicone primers.  My favorite primer for this type of skin is Smashbox Light Photo Finish Primer (white one) as it doesn't have any silicone and it is oil-free.

I just bought the BECCA Mineral Primer SPF 30 today which contains a physical sunblock (I think zinc) and is oil-free and silicone-free so I'll do a review in a few weeks to let you know how my skin has reacted to it.

If you don't break out or get clogged pores and are looking for a good, cheap primer, it looks like the Monistat Chafing Relief might be a good option for you!
