WWYD - MAC Collections?

As you know, MAC is always releasing new collections, and lately the big buzz is for Hello Kitty which launches next week.  If it was YOUR job to be in charge of MAC promo launches, what you change, what would you keep the same?  How would you make your mark on the collections?  Answer in the comments below.

Here's what I would do:

I would limit the collections to 6 x per year to really build excitement and make each launch an "event".  I would stop repromoting or bringing back the same colors all the time.  I would focus on a few exclusive, innovative products and if there were a big hit, I would roll them out into the permanent line. For Christmas I would do numbered, limited pieces. I would make sure all of the launches were of 100% perfect quality (no chalky shadows, no weird pigments).  If I was going to promote a brush with a certain collection, I would change the handle slightly.  All shadows and blushes would be available in Pro pans.  I would turn the launches into a "must-see" event for all makeup lovers instead of the "oh yeah, another MAC launch, yawn"-fest it has become.  Now people are only excited about a few launches (right now Hello Kitty, last was Christmas and before that Cult of Cherry).  So why not go with that model?

I would probably do less than 6...maybe one a quarter, so 4. Spring, Summer, Winter, Fall. So, you wouldn't feel so bad for buying everything from the collection. Unlike now, if you buy everything from each collection you would go bankrupt with the 56844215 collections MAC has. I would make it so most of the eyeshadows weren't chalky (like they are now). They would all have fancy packaging, not the plain black, like most of them are. If the e/s were available in quads, it would be in the plain, square, normal quad palette. Not like they were for Heatherette or like Hello Kitty. Maybe the lid of the quad could be decorated (like Fafi but not a sticker and keep the lid clear so the decoration would have to be kinda sheer), but it would still be a normal quad. And all the lipsticks and lipglasses would be in a colored tube or something, just not black.
