Ooo the joys of changing seasons. My face has gone haywire and I am left with red, blotchy, zitty, dry skin. i am a big fan of La Roche Posay line for sensitive skin called Toleraine, it is available in a lot of dermatologist's offices, isn't too expensive and has minimal ingredients.
Facial Fluid is my fave moisutirzer in the Spring, Summer and Fall. It is very light, perfect for my oily, giant pored skin. My skin just sucks it up and I stay matte all day long. In the winter, my cheeks can get dry, so I add Toleraine Soothing Protective Care to my cheeks or if my whole face is dry, everywhere.
In the morning I use Toleraine Purifying Foaming Cream to clean my skin and in the night time I use Toleraine Dermo-Cleanser to remove my makeup. It says it will remove waterproof makeup, but I have not found it to be effective on regular eye makeup, let alone waterproof. I remove my makeup first with Lancome Bi-Facil makeup remover. I use La Roche Posay Hydraphase Eyes which is a gel, twice a day. If my skin isn't too red (rosacea or hives - take your pick!) I will apply Boots No 7 Restore & Renew Serum underneath my moisutirzer twice a day and that works well at keeping my pores in check. I heard they are coming out with an eye cream, but it hasn't appeared yet, and I will definitey try that when it appears. I am noticing lots of little lines that aren't going away. Jerks. I also use a Lancome clay mask once a week on my t-zone to keep everything happy.
Right now my skin is dry but oily, breaking out all over the place, so I have been dabbing tea tree oil on a qtip and that seems to contain it. I need to get someone to check to see if our humidifier is working on the furnance, because i think that might be some of the trouble.
Is anyone else's skin going crazy? What is your routine?
My skin isn't going crazy...yet. I rarely notice a change in seasons here, we just have warm, hot, extremely hot, and "chilly" weather here. My routine is fairly boring. I wash my face with Philosophy's Purity Made Simple, then I use Clinique Clarifying Lotion 3, and I did use Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel but recently switched to Murad Skin Perfecting Lotion. I do the same thing in the morning, except I use Clinique mild face soap (I'm trying to finish off the bottle but that stuff lasts forever). Whenever I get any breakouts I use some Clean & Clear spot gel right on the blemish. As I said, boring, nothing special.
