Heat and humidity do all sorts of nasty things to foundation!  Long-wearing foundation tend to hold up better then traditional formlations, but if you have pretty good skin, consider faking the foundation in the summer.

The easiest way to great skin in the summer is using a tinted moisturizer with a high SPF like the Stila Sheer Tinted Moisturizer SPF 30 Oil Free which is exclusive to Sephora and comes in 8 shades.  All you need to do is slap this on your face in the morning and you are good to go.  Of course, if you are going to be spending lots of time outdoors, you will need reapply sunscreen every few hours.

Use a gradual tanning lotion like Olay's Touch of Sun to slowly build up some natural looking color do you don't need to wear any foundation.  Look for a lotion that has a minimum SPF 15 and you'll be sunkissed-looking in no time without the sun damage!

Use a stick foundation only where you need coverage.  The Studio Stick SPF 15 from MAC is a great option, plus you can just pop it in your purse for touch ups.

Powder foundations are great for the summer, as long as you apply a thin layer otherwise they can cake.  Clinique's Almost Powder Makeup SPF 15 is a great new mineral option.  Buff the powder into your face using a kabuki or buffer brush so it will adhere to the skin.

For a full bronzed look, get yourself a Mystic Tan or other spray tan where you are finely coated in a sunless tanner mist to achieve a natural looking tan.  You can use a booth or have someone airbrush the tan on you.  Very Hollywood!

So those are a few great ways to skip the full face of foundation in the summer.  What are your tips?  Tomorrow we will talk about keeping your eye makeup lookin' good in the heat.

I'm not into the tinted moisturizer thing. And I'm not to keen on the at home sunless tanner stuff. I'm thinking about the Mystic Tan though. I'm in a wedding next spring, and with sage green dresses, a nice tan would look great. But I'm afraid it will become orange on me...So I think everyone will just have to enjoy my paleness.
