Concealer or Foundation First?

Makeup is so subjective and I like to believe their are no rules.  Actually there is one rule, but only one, your foundation must match your skin tone.  When it comes to applying makeup, there are millions of different ways you can do it, find the one that works for you.

Here is what works for me right now ...

1. Primer - as a shiny girl with enormous pores, I can't skip this step or all of my makeup will be gone in 2 hours.

2. Correcting Concealer - if I have a lot of redness that day, I will apply a yellow concealer under my foundation and blend it well.  If I am having a good skin day, I skip this step.

3. Foundation - I apply my foundation with a brush (a Lancome foundation brush I have had for years) and then I pat it in to my big pores by my nose.  I alternate between MAC Studio Fix Fluid and L'Oreal True Match.  Studio Fix covers more but can look a ittle heavy in warm weather ...

4. Illuminating Concealer - Applied under my eyes and anywhere darkness is remaining.  I cannot tell you how much I now love illuminating concealers!  Right now I am using Dior SkinFlash Radiance Booster Pen.

5. A fine dusting of powder with my Coastal Scents Paddle brush or if I am having a red day, I apply powder foundation with a sponge.  I use either Clinique Perfectly Real Compact or Physician's Formula Organic Wear.

I apply concealer after my foundation, because I only need to apply it where the foundaiton didn't cover.  If I was using powder foundation, I would apply concealer first, so it wouldn't go cakey over the powder.

What are your steps to your flawless face?
