My Face Today - May 15, 2008

No face yesterday, it was a makeup free day.  Well let's not be ridiculous, I did have mascara on, didn't want to frighten any passing children. 

Today I wanted to showcase how you use a crazy colored mascara with a regular sorta look to punch it up.  I did a silver and grey eye with my beloved Urban Decay Big Fatty mascara in Electric Blue.  You know what the best part of this mascara is?  Taking it off at night, you get bright blue running down your face.  Ok, that might just be amusing to be, I am a wierdo!

 

Ok, big confession time, my chin is breaking out and I photoshopped my zits out!  If only I could do that in real life ...

On my eyes I have a Too Faced Shadow in silver all over my lid up to my brows, it's from the Decade of Beauty set, I can't remember the name of it.   It is also along the lower lash line and inner corner.  In the crease and along the upper and lower lash line I have MAC's Scene which is a darkish grey.  So if you have a silver and grey shadow, you too can create this.

On my lashes, as mentioned above, I have *sigh* my fave Urban Decay Big Fatty mascara in Electric Blue.  Ooooo how I love this mascara, it is super fun.  I have been trying to search out Max Factor everywhere to try their colored mascara, but I can't find MF anywhere.  I gotta check Walmart.

On my cheeks I have the usual MAC Beauty Powder in True Romantic, which looks completely uneven in the pics, but that's because I am only get lit from one side.  On my lips L'Oreal Made for Me Naturals in Taffeta, which is a ink neutral and doesn't compete with the eyes.

When I did the eyes, I made a mistake and used a floppy brush and I ended up getting silver shadow everywhere.  Not sure if it was the brush or the Too Faced Shadows, it is the first time I have used their shadows.  But I like the look and I LOVE the mascara.  You are gonna be sick of looking at my blue lashes soon :)

What did you wear today?  Love?  Hate?  Do you like blue mascara or am I stick in 1987?

I like the mascara, I actually couldn't tell from the first picture that you even had it on! Haha. I wish I could wear blue, everytime I try to, I look like a clown. :P

Really? I think you would look great in it .. I bet the UD Big Fatty in Black Cherry would be beautiful on your eyes :)

I like the blue mascara! I have the Black Cherry one, but I have yet to try it out. I think I will use mine with brown and copper eyeshadows. Maybe I will try it out tomorrow. Oh, and I also have the Foxy Lady eyeliner from MAC that I bet would look just wonderful paired up with the Black Cherry mascara!

I can't wait to hear if you are loving the Black Cherry ... and if I need to go get me some. On the way to workout tonight, the sun was streaming the car window and all I could do was stare at my lovely blue lashes (thankfully hubby was driving!!). They are much brighter in real life. I am thinking of doing a green, purple, blue look but not sure if I will end up looking like a peacock - lol.

i think the blue mascara looks really good with your coloring (blue eyes and lightish brown hair), but with mine (dark hazel and dark brown hair) it would be a little too neon-y. i am a big fan of auburn or purple mascara for me! =)

I bet you would love the Black Cherry too Onestepahead .... I think I am going to get the Indigo which is bright blue/violet. I am a sucker for the bright mascaras ...

me too!! :) I am sadly obsessed with it ... I hear MAC is coming up with a colored mascara ... they must be jealous of the UD!
