As you may have read, I am loving the L'Oreal Infallible Never Fail lipgloss lately and I wanted to compare them to the new Clinique Long Last Glosswear SPF 15.

The Clinique contender promises " Lip gloss juiced up with 8 hours of lasting shine. Spends every minute comforting lips. In 18 glistening shades from sheer to full intensity. Moisture makes each one even more mouth-watering. Protects lips, too. Welcome to our juice bar."  With SPF 15, it had to be the winner right?

I chose Goldspun which is a warm neutral.  I am looking for a perfect champagne colored gloss, but I haven't found it yet, but Goldspun was close.  The pigment was very sheer, not nearly as pigmented as the L'Oreal glosses.

The applicator is a small brush and it goes on very smoothly, it glides on better than the L'Oreal gloss.  It would also go over lipstick nicely, without smudging it.  There are warnings all over the box telling you to discontinue use if you have a reaction, and I assume that is for the SPF.  I did not react, but those warnings made me nervous, as I can react to anything.

The gloss was more of a traditional gloss, very moisturizing and not sticky at all.  But that may be it's downfall.  L'Oreal promises 6 hours and Clinique promises 8 ... which lipgloss lasted longer?    The L'Oreal lasted at least 3 hours, until I had to eat.  The Clinique lasted less than 2 and I didn't eat or drink anything.

I sooo wanted to love this Clinique gloss.  It is really pretty, has SPF 15 and I will wear it all the time, but it did not live up to it's marketing material.  Less than 2 hours with no food or water is just regular lipgloss.  They have beautiful colors and if you are looking for a nice SPF 15 gloss, this is a good one.  But if you want a true long wearing gloss, you'll have to check out the L'Oreal Infallible Never Fail.

Have you tried either gloss?  What are your thoughts?  Do you have a favorite long wearing gloss?
